The Daily Prophet Wednesday 2025
Daily Prophet – July 9, 2025
Instructions from Tie Dye:
Please wait to remove the tie-dyed item from the bag until the following day, so the dye can set in. Using gloves, rinse the item, then remove the rubber bands and wash the item in cold water - separately – do NOT put it in the wash with other clothing/items.
Catapults – Pastel Pink
We started off our day sewing faces and ears on our pygmy puff plushies. After the unit leaders take them home to sew together, we will stuff and finish them tomorrow. We then headed over to the amphitheater to practice our skit for tomorrow’s show. Outdoor skills was next. We made fire starters and s’mores. The fire starters were fun, but the s’mores were better! We also found Scabbers, the rat, at outdoor skills, which meant jellybeans for later. After lunch, we headed back to the unit to finish up our SWAPS and Monster Book of Monsters. We ended the day with bracelets and more skit practice.
Tornado 1 – Peach Pygmy Puffs
We started our third day with a fun activity from science! The girls made catapults out of popsicle sticks and got to try them out to see how well they launched. After that, we went to outdoor skills to learn fire safety and even made yummy s’mores! We finished off our day at archery where we got to practice shooting bows and arrows. We can’t wait for tomorrow! Please don’t forget to bring a washed 100% cotton shirt for tie-dye if you haven’t already.
Tornado 2 – Purple Pegasus
It was Tie-Dye Day!! Tie-dye was a big hit, and we can’t wait to see how all the shirts turned out! We also enjoyed playing “Would You Rather…” with Harry Potter questions! All of our Purple Pegasus friends have been busy weaving finger loop creations this week, and they made a very long jump rope which we enjoyed playing today as well during downtime. After lunch it was time for the Challenge Course! We helped one another climb over a wall, balance on a balance beam, climb a rope wall, and zipline through the trees! Everyone was very encouraging of each other and so brave! Fears were conquered, and fun was had! After practicing our skit, we got to learn about fire safety and how to make a fire starter before roasting a marshmallow and making a s’more!! Another great camping day!
Bats 1 - Fiery Phoenixes
We started our 3rd fun filled day at camp with taking a picture in our cool new camp shirts! We then set off to find the pet rat Scabbers, getting jellybeans as a reward! Then, we went up to Arts and Crafts and cooled off in the AC. We learned how to sew buttons onto bags and had loads of fun! Afterwards, we headed back to our unit to practice the skit that we will be performing tomorrow. Next, we had lunch in the shade at our unit and completed our Harry Potter quiz for the day. Afterwards, one of the OWLs started their craft called “Magic Skittles”! Later in the day we had fun at outdoor skills, learning all about fire safety – AND making smore’s!! After, we had a fun origami craft of owls for ‘bring your owl day’ tomorrow! Lastly, we had fun experimenting and learning at science! Tomorrow is owl day – don’t forget to bring your favorite owl!
Bats 2 – Sky-Blue Hippogriffs
Day 3 of camp was filled with lots of fun activities! The sky-blue Hippogriffs did a fingerprinting mystery game at potions to discover who stole the Triwizard Goblet. Then we tie-dyed some shirts and accessories, followed by s’mores! To finish off the day we did a pinecone craft. For tomorrow – make sure to bring an owl for owl day, and an extra change of clothes and shoes as we will be doing water games tomorrow.
Sunrays 1 – Minty Mermaids
The Minty Mermaids had a very busy day for the middle of camp. We started the day practicing our skills on the archery and slingshot ranges. We learned about invisible ink and fingerprints and used our new skills to solve the mystery of who stole the Tri-Wizard Cup! Then we solved another mystery by finding that sneaky Scabbers, who was skulking around our unit! Jelly beans were a very sweet reward – almost as delicious as the ice cream we had after lunch! We finished our beautiful tote bags and will be using them to bring home the owl fans we made this morning, which you are welcome to bring back for Bring-an-Owl day tomorrow. Finally, we were so proud to lead the closing flag ceremony at camp this afternoon.
Sunrays 2 – Lavender Lions
The Lavender Lions had a WONDERFUL Wednesday at camp! We started our day off right with smores and then worked on our skit for tomorrow’s performance! We then had lunch and went back to crafts to finish our bags! Then we made magic pretzel wands and had a WATER FIGHT with the boys! Can’t wait for tomorrow!
Rangers
The boys had a great day today! We started with the challenge course, and did all kinds of fun outdoor activities. We then learned our skit for tomorrow and even found Scabbers and got jelly beans! We got ice cream after lunch and had a water fight with one of the other units! We are having a great time and are looking forward to the rest of the week!
Pixies – All Powerful Pixies
We started day 3 with a team photo, followed by a hunt to find Scabbers, Sunshine’s pet rat. We found the wily rodent, and Sunshine was so happy that she gave us all jelly beans as a reward! In Outdoor Skills, we got to practice campfire safety, then we made s’mores and edible campfires. After lunch and watermelon, we played quidditch and practiced writing spells with sidewalk chalk. We then hunted for magic dragon eggs, and later, cooled off in the craft center. We ended our day practicing our lines for our Marauder’s Map-themed skit, which we will perform for the whole camp tomorrow morning! Tomorrow is Owl Day, so don’t forget to pack a feathered friend!
