Reminder: Rain Gear

Campers should bring ponchos or raincoats to camp tomorrow, as rain is predicted. DO NOT bring ANY umbrellas – they are not allowed at camp. Thank you!

Instructions from Science Center for Care of Herbology Orbs:

Store in a cool dry place. Remember: the seeds will start sprouting when they get wet. Throw in your own yard before rain. Note: It works best if you hold on to it until the following spring. Then watch them grow!

Instructions for Tie Dye:

Please wait to remove the Tie Dyed item from the bag until the following day, so that the dye can set in. Using gloves, rinse the item, then remove the rubber bands and wash the item in cold water separately-- do NOT put it in the wash with other clothing/items.

Catapults - Hot Pink Hippogriffs

The Hippogriffs went right to Crafts this morning, making pom-poms, custom wands, and picture frames to hold their camp photos (that they'll be getting tomorrow). They finished up most of their crafts and SWAPS and ate lunch with the adorable Pixies before leading them on a watermelon hike. They finished off the day at the Challenge Course, tackling the Giant's Ladder and the big zip-line!

Tornado 1 - Green Frogs

We had another amazing day at camp and can't believe that tomorrow is already Friday! We started our morning with archery and slingshots! The leaders there were SO impressed with our group and gave us a lot of compliments about our behavior and skills. Way to go, Green Frogs! We spent our afternoon cooking and crafting! We made delicious hot dogs, pizza pockets, grilled cheese and banana boats over the campfire! We had fun making Harry Potter house themed bookmarks and stress balls back at our site! We practiced our two group skits for tomorrow morning's performance and we're ready to go! Just a reminder that tomorrow is Bring an Owl Day if you'd like to participate. We'll also be making towel owls for all our campers!

Tornado 2 - Turquoise Storm Clouds

It was a beautiful morning so we took a long hike around camp looking for clues left by the Watermelon Witch. Once we found all out clues, we had a tasty watermelon treat waiting for us back at our home base. And we found Scabbers today too! Bertie Bots make another great snack. This afternoon we made wands and picture frames with Crafts and practiced our hand eye coordination at Archery. Please make sure to dress appropriately for the potentially rainy weather on Friday!!!

Bats 1 - Lavender Fwoopers

Today was a fun filled day for the Fwoopers. We made beef hotdogs if the children would like over an open campfire for lunch or they could have their own lunch or both. They enjoyed some crafts at our main campsite and some play time. They also participated in water games. They all loved this particular activity. We look forward to our last day together tomorrow, Friday. The weather is looking like it will be raining a majority of the day so if you have raincoats or ponchos for the kids please have them wear them or at least bring them as we will be moving around in the rain. Thank you!

Bats 2 - Blue Morpho Butterflies

Our day started so strong and proud as our group led the whole camp in morning flag—every butterfly had a job to do and did it flawlessly and respectfully, and we are so proud of them! Then the Blue Morpho Butterflies had a day full of Blueberry Hill magic and tasty treats! We started our day with a colorful rock painting craft led by one of our OWLs, Violet—it was so much fun to have a youth-directed activity, and the girls loved it! Then we marched down the hill to practice our outdoor skills and made some campfire baked apples. Back up the hill to practice our skits, make our swaps, play games and add to our art gallery, and have some lunch before we flew to Ashgrove Lodge for our ice cream and sorbet treats! We ended the day by finishing up our crafts and skit practice, polishing up our campsite, and flying home for the day!

Bats 3 - Chocolate Frogs

Today was such a fun day for the Chocolate Frogs! We worked on our SWAPS at our campsite and practiced our skit for tomorrow. They will do great and are really looking forward to it! After the skit practice, the Choc. Frogs went on a short hike and came back and found watermelon at their campsite as a surprise treat. Then after lunch, they played with water balloons and had such an awesome time splashing each other and their leaders. Finally, the Choc. Frogs went to the flag pole to practice the flag ceremony for tomorrow and ended the day with ice cream.

Sunrays 1 - Purple Potions

This morning we started off our day by loading up with sugar, first when we visited Outdoor Skills and made s'mores and then visited to Ice Cream. Then we paid another visit to Songs and Games, where we played some Quidditch and some parachute games. After lunch, we practiced our skit for tomorrow then went to Science where we tasted some jellybeans and worked with some dragon scrolls. We followed all of this by making magic bead bracelets and cooling off with some water games.

Sunrays 2 - Red Dragons

Grateful for another fun day at camp! We learned how to make dough boys (crescent rolls) and added sugar and cinnamon over hot coals. Note to self: no more than 4 minutes over the fire. The campers enjoyed making loops that turned into bracelets, jump ropes and headbands. We ended the day with a dragon scroll and jellybean tasting at science. Good job to these girls during leading the closing flag ceremony. Well done!

Sunrays 3 - Green Griffins

On their fourth day at camp, the Green Griffins planned and practiced their skit and kicked off the afternoon with a rousing game of quidditch. In potions class, we sorted Professor Snape's jellybeans and then crafted potions that we used to uncover our dragons. Ice cream was enjoyed by all! If your camper brought home a bag of swaps earlier this week, please return them tomorrow for the swap meet. Finally, rain is in the forecast tomorrow, so please pack a poncho (no umbrellas)!

Rangers - Pastel Pink Power Rangers

The boys had lots of fun at challenge course this morning, where they participated in all kinds of fun team-building activities! We also had a great time finding Scabbers while pranking another unit. We then went to Ashgrove to eat ice cream for a second time this week. After filling our bellies, we went up to Firefly Lodge for Arts and Crafts where we made wands and frames. The Rangers can't wait for the peanut butter pit, shaving cream battle, and skits that we will partake in tomorrow.

Pixies - Orange Owls

The Pixies had a terrific day! First thing after flag we all got face paint for Animagus day, and then we went on another scavenger hunt for a dragon egg. For lunch we had some of the big girls in the Catapults come hang out with us, and then together we all went on a hike for a watermelon! After we ate our watermelon and said goodbye to the Catapults, we went to archery. We got to do target practice with shaving cream (AND spray our teen!) and we got to practice using bows and arrows. We are SO excited for the last day of camp together!!
